Dr Pulakkat’s is an active researcher in the field of nanobiotechnology. Her doctoral research focused on the development of biodegradable polyelectrolyte nanocapsules and polymer nanoparticles for targeted delivery of anticancer agents. Her research interests are mainly in the emerging field of nanomedical sciences—in particular, targeted drug and gene delivery, cancer therapy, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. Earlier work included the development of biocompatible silica-based nanomedicine incorporating a hydrophobic anticancer drug and a near infrared fluorescence contrast agent with high stability for the noninvasive in vivo optical imaging of mice. Dr Pulakkat has published her research and presented at both local and international conferences and has over 2 years’ experience as a peer reviewer. She joined Edanz Group as a research consultant in 2015.
